This tutorial finds where a resource grows, using the world map of a game version, then opens the maps of that region. It takes a few minutes and needs no bot. You only need a Dofus version that's downloaded and extracted in Game Manager: Download a game version sets one up.
1. Open the world map
- In the sidebar, open Game Manager.
- On your Dofus version's row, click the game's name or Inspect. The version's Game page opens.
- Open the Maps tab. It starts on the World view.
- In the page's header, set Language to the language you know the resource's name in.
2. Search for the resource
- Click the search box, "Search for a monster, resource, item...", and type the start of the resource's name. Each word you type matches the start of a word in the name.
- Results appear as buttons while you type. A resource is an item: its button shows its name, the table it comes from,
items, and its number after#. Two records can share a name, and the number tells them apart. - Click the resource.
The world map highlights the regions where the resource can be found, and a button above the map shows its name with the number of highlighted regions. Click that button later to remove the highlight.
Two things to know about the highlight:
- It covers the regions where the resource is gathered, and also the regions of the monsters that drop it. Step 3 tells them apart.
- Regions on another world map, or without an outline, can't be highlighted. They're listed after "Also in:", and clicking one shows it in the region panel.
When the button says the resource "appears on no region here", look at "Also in:", or pick another world map in the list at the top left.
3. Check a region
- Click a highlighted square. The region panel under the map describes its region.
- Look at Harvestables, with its count. If the resource is in that list, it grows in this region. Point at it to read "Gathered with" and the job that gathers it.
- If it isn't there, look at Drops: the region is highlighted because one of its monsters drops the resource.
- Note the region's Level badge, and whether it has a Zaap button, which opens the map of the zaap that serves the region.
The game data lists resources by region, not by map or by cell, so the panel can't say on which maps of the region the resource grows. Its note, "Gathered on the maps of this area.", is a reminder of that.
4. Walk through the region's maps
- In the region panel, click the button that opens its maps, such as Open the 12 map(s). The Map view opens on the first map of the region.
- Under View, keep Terrain. Cells the game marks for harvesting take the Harvest colour of the legend, and Summary, under the map, counts them as Harvest cells.
- Under Layers, check that Interactive is on: it puts a dot on each cell where an interactive element stands.
- Click the arrows on the sides of the map, or press the arrow keys, to move to the neighbouring maps.
- To go back to the world map, click the button that shows the map's coordinates, such as Show at [4, -19] on the world map.
Neither the cell colours nor the dots say what stands on a cell: the map data doesn't name the resource of each spot. They show you where to look, and the game shows the rest once you're there.
Tip
Click Split at the top of the tab to keep the world map next to the map you walk through, and turn on Follow the map so the world map stays centred on it.
Where to go next
- World map and Map viewer explain everything these views show.
- Game data shows a resource's full record, which the "Open in game data" button next to each search result opens.
